Having finished with competitive sports in my early twenties I, like so many others toiled away (very intermittently!) in 'regular' gyms, doing the same boring programming in an attempt to limit the expansion of my waistline.
Just after Christmas 2013 I decided I had to make a change. I wanted to find something that I could do for the rest of my life while also satisfying my competitive nature. After some searching I discovered the world of CrossFit.
I took up CrossFit in Vancouver, Canada that January and began attending classes with more regularity. I found that I quickly became leaner and stronger and that I generally felt better and healthier.
My CrossFit Fianna story started in 2016. Having moved back to Dublin I searched the city to find a new 'box' (gym for converted CrossFitters!). I tried a number of gyms but when I did my free introductory class at CrossFit Fianna I knew straight away that this was the gym for me.
Everything about the gym makes for a really positive experience, the coaches are very welcoming and knowledgeable, and the members are supportive and great craic. There is a strong community spirit in the gym, in the space of a few months I've made and unexpected new friend-group that has certainly made the transition back much easier.
I've been a member of CrossFit Fianna for about a year now and I can honestly say that training there is always one of the best hours of my day.
